RISE Mentoring Leadership Scheme for BAME psychological professionals in the NHS

RISE, a mentoring scheme funded by Health Education England (HEE) to address inequality in senior leadership posts for psychological professionals in the NHS, has been launched.

The BPC with the Association of Clinical Psychologists (ACP-UK), the British Psychological Society (BPS), the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP), the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) have contributed to develop a cohort of experienced professionals who can offer mentoring and set out training and peer support.

NHS Trusts and other providers of NHS commissioned healthcare have been invited to identify suitably qualified staff members (bands 5 to 8a) who may wish to become mentees. RISE offers mentoring to up to 70 ethnic minority practitioners.
