- Each approved scholar will be authorised to refer to himself or herself in professional circles as a “Scholar of the British Psychoanalytic Council”. This designation can be used in speaker biographies, in publications, on professional websites, and in other scholarly contexts. (Scholars must not refer to themselves as “Registrants” or as “Members”, as those titles would imply a clinical registration with the British Psychoanalytic Council).
- Each approved scholar will receive a certificate confirming one’s status for the calendar year.
- Each approved scholar will receive a print copy of New Associations, the publication of the British Psychoanalytic Council.
- Each approved scholar will receive an electronic copy of The Scholar’s Study newsletter, which appears termly.
- Each approved scholar will receive e-mail updates from the British Psychoanalytic Council as well as a special e-mail exclusively for scholars.
- Each approved scholar will receive special discounts for events organised by the British Psychoanalytic Council, including the popular annual conference, “PP Now”, which explores the interface between psychoanalytical theory, psychoanalytical practice, and society.
- Each approved scholar will have an opportunity to participate in conferences and events as speakers or discussants and will have an opportunity to propose panels and seminars.
- Each approved scholar will have able to submit items for publication for New Associations and for The Scholar’s Study, subject to editorial approval.
- Each approved scholar will have the opportunity to meet with and to consult with clinically-registered colleagues in the hope of embarking upon collaborative research projects.
- Scholars will have an opportunity to advertise their academic events, publications, and relevant links on the British Psychoanalytic Council website. Each Scholar will receive access to a special page on which he or she can post details of publications and research projects, as well as a photograph.
