Highgate Counselling Centre (HCC) is a registered charity providing psychodynamic counselling to individuals, couples, and families, alongside accredited qualifying counselling training. As the UK’s longest-established charity counselling provider, we’ve remained committed to our founding mission for over six decades: ensuring everyone can access the support they need, regardless of their ability to pay.

We deliver a 2-year BACP accredited Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling wherein trainees are offered in-house placements at the HCC Counselling Centre.

We are currently recruiting a Theory Tutor to join our Diploma training team, starting in September 2026. This post is offered on a two-year contract (renewable) running from September 2026 until July 2028. The rate of pay is £50.00 per hour.

The theory class runs on Monday evenings from 7:00pm until 8:30pm with up to 14 trainees in the group. The Diploma course comprises 3 x 10-week terms per year (in line with Haringey’s school timetable). The group is held at North Bank, Muswell Hill Methodist Church, Pages Lane, London N10 1PP.

Applicants must be a qualified psychodynamic or psychoanalytic practitioner and hold a qualification or significant interest in teaching.
