About our Scholars’ Network

Scholars' Network logo

Our Scholars' Network offers a professional affiliation for psychoanalytically informed academics and researchers who have made a significant contribution to the advancement of psychoanalytical thinking.

Join Us

Membership is available to those who have made a significant contributions to the advancement of psychoanalytic thinking through the use of psychoanalytic theory in their teaching, research and writing. Joining us will enable you to support the development of a unique network and online platform that shares innovative approaches and cutting-edge thinking; encourages cross-disciplinary practices and research; and fosters collaboration among scholars and clinicians.

If you are interested in joining our Scholars’ Network, please complete our application to join here. Your application will be reviewed by our Scholars’ Committee and we will contact you shortly.

Categories of the Scholars' Network

Fees

Scholar – £79.00

Clinician Scholar – £42.00

Associate Scholar – £53.00

International Scholar – £105.00 / £84.00 / £63.00 In recognising that our International Scholar applicants may come from countries with varying costs of living, we offer applicants in this category to choose a fee that is appropriate for them.

If you would like to join the Scholars Network, please complete our Join the Scholars Network form. Please check you meet all of the criteria before completing the form.

Your application will be reviewed by our Scholars’ Network subcommittee, according to the criteria of the category that you select. If approved, your application will then be sent to the Board for ratification. Board meetings take place quarterly, so it may take up to three months after you apply before we can confirm the outcome of your application. Thank you in advance for your patience.

By applying to be part of the Scholars’ Network, you are agreeing not to bring the BPC nor the Scholars’ Network into disrepute. The BPC reserves the right to remove you from the Network at any point.

The Scholars' Study

Our termly eNewsletter is called The Scholar's Study. It is managed by the editors, Dr Theodora Thomadaki and Dr Jacob Johanssen. You can read the Scholars' Study's By clicking 'Learn More' below. The Scholars' Study aims to inform about publications, events, or news about the scholars and psychoanalysis beyond the clinic. We hope this facilitates a home for the Scholars to share ideas, get to know each other, and learn about events and news.
