Safeguarding: A Workshop on Ethical Dilemmas in Private Practice

Description

The workshop will include information about safeguarding services in local government and the legal obligations which apply to all health professionals. Much of the learning will take place in small groups using case studies applying to clinicians and supervisors in private practice.

In the afternoon we will consider especially those factors which might lead the counsellor or psychotherapist not to take appropriate action when that means going outside of the therapeutic relationship. Such factors are often intensified for the practitioner working in the relative isolation of private practice.
