BPC Workshop: Safeguarding in the Consulting Room
Organised by:
The British Psychoanalytic Council
Description
Date: Friday, 21 June 2024
Time: 14.00 – 16.55
Online, Zoom Meetings
This event is for current BPC Registrants only.
As part of our series of small events focussing on professional practice, we are pleased to offer a further bespoke safeguarding workshop for psychoanalytic practitioners.
This is a condensed workshop, taking place online on a Friday afternoon, for those who have been unable to attend our previous full day workshops. This workshop offers the opportunity for BPC Registrants to better understand the legal requirements for safeguarding, and how these may present themselves in various psychoanalytic clinical scenarios and the dilemmas and ethical considerations that can arise. The workshop does not constitute as a certified training course.
This online only event is a slightly larger group than the previous Safeguarding workshop. However, spaces are still limited. The event will not be recorded.

Alongside her private practice, she worked as a professional witness in court proceedings; as a senior manager within the NHS (CAMHS) and as a commercial coach in the banking sector including Coutts Bank. Later in her career, she focussed on child protection as the Safeguarding Lead at the Tavistock and Portman between 2009-2021 before her NHS retirement.
