Description

The much-anticipated 9th International conference for infant observation will return in April 2024.

Open to both teachers and students of infant observation, speakers from around the world will explore how psychoanalytic observation can help us better understand infant development. The event will take place at The Tavistock Centre, London from Friday 5 to Saturday 6 April 2024, and is expected to attract a diverse and international audience.

Under the theme,’Psychoanalytic observation, intersectionality and the social matrix: implications for infant observation and its applications,’ you’ll learn how social forces intersect with the infant’s internal and interpersonal experiences to shape development, as well as how identity plays a role in infant observation practice.

For the very first time, the initial day will be open to both teachers and students of infant observation. The second day, which focusses predominantly on the teaching of infant observation, will be open to teachers only.

This conference promises to be a remarkable occasion for everyone involved in the practice and pedagogy of infant observation.

If you’d like to attend, we encourage you to please register early for the conference to secure your spot.
