Description

45th International Psychoanalytic Child Psychotherapy Colloquium

The Cost of Living: The Impact of Poverty and Social Deprivation on the Internal World of the Child

We hear every day about the impact of the Cost of Living Crisis on our lives. But what are the emotional and psychological costs for the children and families that we see in our consulting rooms?

We are delighted to invite you to our 45th International Psychoanalytic Child Psychotherapy Colloquium from Friday 3-4 November. This year’s theme will consider the complexities and implications of the cost of living crisis through a psychoanalytic lens. Presenters this year include Professor Peter Fonagy, Adam Goren, Sarah Kavanaugh, Eliza Newel, Dr Ferelyth Watt, Sheena Swaffield and Thomas Booker.

Combining theory and learnings from ground-breaking clinical work, discussions will examine the internal world of children and young people facing the challenges of poverty, adversity, inequity and exclusion. The colloquium will provide a forum to hone your clinical techniques to address economic and social difficulties and invite you to contribute to innovation in your services to better support the mental wellbeing of children and young people in the current period.

The Colloquium will be held online.

Ticket prices: Standard: £275, students: £135
