How we accredit trainings

BPC trainings are known for their quality and rigour. We accredit a wide range of psychoanalytic trainings and our training organisations also offer taster courses, seminars, and university-accredited degrees.

The works of Freud, Jung, Klein, Winnicott and others form the theoretical core, which provides for a rich and stimulating education into the workings of the human mind.

Our trainings, which are reviewed and reaccredited every five years, also provide practical training in treating psychological problems using psychoanalytic techniques. They cover the range from training in once weekly psychodynamic counselling to preparation in becoming a psychoanalyst, treating patients four or five times per week, using the couch. Graduation leads to careers in the health service, charities or many people work in private practice.

Although most of our trainings are in work with adults in individual therapy, we also accredit trainings in child and adolescent psychodynamic psychotherapy as well as psychoanalytic work with couples, families and organisations.

Trainees come from a wide variety of backgrounds including medicine, social work, academia and nursing. We are working with our training providers to ensure that all courses are inclusive and culturally sensitive.

If you run a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic training that is not currently BPC accredited and are interested in exploring potential accreditation, please contact us for the criteria and requirements documentation.
