Senior Psychodynamic Psychotherapist
We wish to appoint a Senior Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with UKCP or BPC registration and experience of working in NHS settings to join our friendly, skilled and dedicated team of psychological therapists working within a Community Adult Mental Health Team setting.
Location: Whiteleaf Centre, Aylesbury
Role description: Senior Psychodynamic Psychotherapist band 8a 0.8wte
You will be working with clients with severe and enduring mental health problems; you will play a significant role in developing our psychotherapy provision for this client group.
You will provide psychological therapy assessments and interventions, as well as providing supervision and support to other psychological therapists and consultation and guidance to our colleagues in the CMHT. You will have excellent communication skills and will participate in multidisciplinary risk assessment, formulation and care planning. Currently much of our work is online, but some face to face work is also possible.
As psychological therapists we meet weekly and have monthly reflective practice. Supervision is provided by senior therapists to help consolidate therapy skills in a focused and supported way. It is expected that the post holder will contribute to the wider staff team via training, supervision, reflective practice, consultation and psychological formulation. The service offers training placements for junior doctors, trainee psychotherapists and clinical/counselling psychologists and the post holder would be encouraged to participate in these trainings and support the development of psychotherapy placements.
The post is based at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury. You need to be able to travel to other locations across the Trust from time to time.
We look forward to receiving your application if you have skills in delivering therapy to this client group, evidence of significant knowledge in your specialist therapy area, sound clinical risk assessment and management skills, experience of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, experience and enthusiasm to work collaboratively with colleagues in the wider CMHT and finally, a desire to play a positive and proactive role within the psychological therapies team. We are willing to consider requests from applicants who wish to work more or fewer hours than those advertised and can also consider flexible working requests. Other similar posts are also available in our South Bucks locality.
Closing date 30th August 2021.
