The Service is part of the wider Westminster Hub Integrated Therapies, which includes all psychosocial therapies offered to adult patients in the integrated Westminster Community Mental Health Hubs. The borough has recently undergone community transformation, with an emphasis on closer and more integrated working across primary and secondary care.
This is a newly created post in the restructured Westminster Psychotherapy Service. The postholder will be a senior member of the Service (alongside a part-time Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy and a part-time Band 8B Senior Principal Psychotherapist), providing clinical, supervisory and training input as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and contribute to the further development of the Service.
The new service will offer a combination of longer and shorter term, individual and group treatments: Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT), Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) and Interpersonal Group Psychotherapy (IGP). MBT, DIT and IGP are recommended treatments within the latest NHS England Psychological Therapies for Severe Mental Health Problems (PT-SMHP) Implementation Guidance. The range of shorter and longer treatments allows greater flexibility to tailor treatment to patient needs. The Service works closely with the newly developed Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) Pathway, led by the Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy, and delivers some treatments that fall within the Pathway.
Salary: £52,643 – £58,558 pa inc pro rata
