Principal Psychodynamic / Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist
We wish to appoint a Principal Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with UKCP or BPC registration and experience of assessing and treating patients in NHS settings to join our friendly, skilled and dedicated team of psychological therapists working within a Community Adult Mental Health Team setting.
Location: Whiteleaf Centre, Aylesbury
Role description: Principal Psychodynamic Psychotherapist: band 8b 0.6wte
You will be working with patients with severe and enduring mental health problems and supporting staff who are working with this group of patients.
You will provide psychological assessments and individual psychodynamic/psychoanalytic interventions, as well as providing supervision and support to other psychological therapists and consultation and guidance to our colleagues in the CMHT. You will have excellent communication skills and will participate in multidisciplinary risk assessment, formulation and care planning.
As psychological therapists we meet weekly and have monthly reflective practice. Supervision is provided by senior therapists. The service offers training placements for junior doctors, trainee psychotherapists and clinical/counselling psychologists and the postholder would be encouraged to participate in these trainings and support the development of psychotherapy placements.
The post holder will provide line management and leadership for psychodynamic psychotherapy within the team and this post may appeal to those wishing to develop these skills. For those without experience of management and leadership, support and training will be provided.
The post is based at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury. You need to be able to travel to other locations across the Trust from time to time.
We look forward to receiving your application if you have skills in delivering therapy to this client group, evidence of significant knowledge in your specialist therapy area, sound clinical risk assessment and management skills, experience of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, experience and enthusiasm to work collaboratively with colleagues in the wider CMHT and a desire to play a positive and proactive role within the psychological therapies team, both as a colleague and line manager. We are willing to consider requests from applicants who wish to work more or fewer hours than those advertised and are also able to consider flexible working requests.
Closing date 30th August 2021.
