The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families supports distressed children and their families through innovative therapeutic practice and research, training and promoting awareness of mental health issues. We encourage applications from all sections of the community.The Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT) programme is a service transformation programme that aims to improve Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and develop the workforce. The 0-5s module within CYP IAPT aims to develop the specialist workforce needed to meet the needs of these young children and their families. Students are trained in the fundamental principles of working with 0-5 year olds as well as Incredible Years (IY) and Video Intervention Feedback to Promote Positive Parenting and Sensitive Discipline (VIPP-SD).In partnership with UCL as the degree awarding body, the Centre is recruiting a Practice Tutor to work alongside the existing small and collaborative team to support the delivery of the CYP IAPT 0-5s module. The Practice Tutor will be expected to facilitate practice tutor groups, act as a personal tutor, contribute to teaching and marking and liaise with the students’ workplaces.The successful candidate will be an experienced 0-5s practitioner and either an accredited VIPP-SD supervisor or have the appropriate qualifications and experience to train as a VIPP-SD supervisor. Supervision of VIPP-SD supervision will be provided by a qualified VIPP-SD supervisor and trainer. Experience and/or knowledge of IY would be desirable.Applications from candidates with knowledge and/or lived experience to support delivery of EDI (equity, diversity and inclusion) teaching content within the context of child mental health would be welcomed.The successful candidate must be available to work on Tuesdays.The Centre has moved to a hybrid model of working. Staff are currently working 20% of their working hours onsite. From January 2022, staff will be required to work onsite for up to 40% of their working hours at the Anna Freud Centre in King’s Cross, London (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). We anticipate that the delivery of the Practice Tutor Groups will be face-to-face at the Centre from January 2022. However, some flexibility will be necessary to undertake online teaching as and when required, if circumstances change.
