Conferences and Events Officer

We are looking for an efficient, hardworking and proactive Conferences and Events Officer to work as part of a team to help administer and coordinate our conferences and events.

Role: Conferences and Events Officer
Location: London
Salary: £29,000 per annum FTE, plus 6% contributory pension scheme

Role description:
The role would suit a candidate with strong administration experience in a similar setting who is looking for a step up in their career. The role would ideally suit a strong Administrator/Coordinator who has experience of working in a busy environment within an events or not-for-profit organisation. We would also consider a self-motivated, focussed individual with a strong interest to develop a career within the events or voluntary sector. The Centre delivers a wide range of training, conferences and events, aimed mainly at mental-health and allied professionals and are core to the Centre’s mission of disseminating skills in innovative practice, as well as being a way of generating income. These are held online via Zoom and Blackboard, in the Centre’s training rooms (when it is safe enough to do so), and externally in various settings.

The scope and size of the Centre’s event portfolio is continuing to grow and to help support this growth, we are seeking to appoint a Conferences and Events Officer to support the activity. The Officer will work with the Conferences and Events Lead, Officer and Assistant, as well as other colleagues from across the organisation, to plan, deliver and evaluate the Centre’s strategic conference and events programme. The programme plays a major part in our communications to, and engagement with, a wider range of external audiences. At the moment, the programme is delivered entirely online, and these online events will remain an important part of our offering even once in-person events return. The post-holder will need to possess excellent organisational skills, an exacting attention to detail, calmness under pressure and an assuredness when working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Closing date for applications: Midday (12pm), Monday 10 January 2022
Interviews: Interviews will be held on Thursday 20 January 2022
