PROGRAMME: MSc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents

Year 1 group January – July, Monday term time:
11.00am – 12.15pm Theory

Year 2 group January – July, Tuesday term time:
9.30am – 10.45am Counselling Workshop
11.00am – 12.15pm Theory

Role description

You will have knowledge of psychodynamic practice and experience of working as a counsellor with children and/or adolescents in a therapeutic setting, and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).

Further to the person specification, essential requirements for this role are:

• Have ACP, BACP, BPC or UKCP accreditation

• Have a professional qualification as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, Psychodynamic Counsellor, Psychotherapist or Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and a current clinical practice

• An understanding of the practical and dynamic issues related to working with children and adolescents in organisations.

• Evidence of effective teaching/supervision

Desirable criteria are:

• Experience of group relations events

• Training at a minimum of Diploma/MSc level (or equivalent)

Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £61.68 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
