Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy (with research experience)

We are seeking a Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy on a permanent, part-time contract, to join Birkbeck's Centre for Counselling. In this role you will co-direct and teach on a popular pre-clinical psychotherapy programme with one of our key training partners. This is one of 3 vacancies we are currently advertising.

As Counselling and Psychotherapy Lecturer:

You will be an experienced psychodynamic counsellor/psychotherapist or psychoanalytic psychotherapist with substantial post-qualification experience,
You will have experience of successfully leading counselling and psychotherapy programmes or modules,
You will have experience of undertaking empirical research in counselling or psychotherapy or a related field, and of teaching research methods/methodologies and supervising dissertations,
You will be familiar with mother-infant observations and understand their role in pre-clinical and clinical trainings.

This opportunity would build on experience as a counsellor or psychotherapist in current clinical practice, a psychodynamic or psychoanalytic practitioner training counsellors in further or higher education, a psychodynamic or psychoanalytic practitioner/researcher.
