About Julie Crabb
Julie Crabb is a Nurse Therapist in the NHS Grampian Psychotherapy Department. She qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 2011 and has worked in both ward and community settings. Julie’s most substantial role was working as an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist for 13 years within the addiction service. She provided clinical supervision for staff and worked with individuals with complex needs. Within this role Julie also provided Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) to patients and attended an MBT supervision group which enabled her to reach MBT Practitioner status.
In April 2022, Julie joined the Psychotherapy Department. She carries out assessments and provides treatment to those referred to her, such as those who have suffered trauma and relationship difficulties. She uses MBT with patients individually and runs groups designed for people with interpersonal difficulties. Julie has also assisted delivering MBT skills training to NHS staff by facilitating small group discussions.
Julie provides NHS supervision to staff, which allows a reflective space for practitioners to think about their cases and workplace dynamics.
Julie has a small private practice where she offers individual MBT to people online.
