About Aleksandra Urbanska
My name is Aleksandra Urbanska. I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist specialising in assessment and therapy with children, young people, and their families. I have many years of experience working across different health and social care settings such as child development service, looked after children service, psychiatric inpatient unit. For over the past 10 years, I have worked in a busy, inner London child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) and have held a managerial role for over the past 5 years contributing to the development of innovative services for young people.
My area of interest and specialism is working with young people aged 13 to 25 years as well as with their parents. I have had the privilege to work with young people from different social and cultural backgrounds and I have supported them with various difficulties including anxiety, depression, relationships, loss as well as life transitions.
Whilst I draw upon a range of evidence based psychological approaches to meet the young person’s needs and achieve their personal goals, I have particular interest and training in providing Time-Limited Adolescent Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (TAPP). I am accredited as a TAPP practitioner by the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC). I am also trained in several evidence-based parenting interventions (i.e. attachment based, Incredible Years, Triple P) and I have had the privilege to work with parents of teenagers both individually and in a group setting.
