Michelle Golding
Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist
About Michelle Golding
I have been in private practice for over 22 years working with adults and young people with a wide range of difficulties including depression and anxiety.
I previously worked in the NHS in a frontline service for young people age 11 to 21 years. As part of this role I worked in secondary schools as a counsellor.
I provided counselling on a private basis to a secondary girls school in East London for 18 years.
My approach is to listen and try to make sense with the client or patient of what may be going on under the surface that they are not yet fully aware of. I am especially interested in points of transition in life, from school to college/university and moving from early adulthood to more mature adulthood. I am also interested in the transition into older age.
I am a qualified supervisor and hold a Diploma in Supervision from The Society of Analytical Psychology (July 2014).
I have an MA in Consultation and the Organisation: Psychoanalytic Approaches from the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust (2008). This is particularly useful in supervising those working within organisations..
