About Sebastian José Kohon
Sebastian Kohon is a qualified psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over 20 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults in NHS, charity sector, school and private settings. He studied at the University of Manchester (BA Psychology – First Class), at the University of Cambridge (Mphil History and Philosophy of Science), and at the Centro Studi Martha Harris, Florence, Italy (psychoanalytic infant observation). He trained as a child psychoanalytic psychotherapist at the Tavistock Clinic, London, and subsequently completed a second training as an adult psychoanalytic psychotherapist at the British Psychotherapy Foundation. Between 2008 and 2013 he was co-chair of the child section of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists.
Since 2008, he has worked at the Brent Centre for Young People, where he is a senior psychotherapist and chairs of one of the clinical teams, at the Belmont School Mill Hill and in private practice in SW London. He supervises and teaches clinicians in the UK, China and Australia, and is a visiting seminar leader at the Adelaide Institute of Psychoanalysis (Australia) and on the child & adolescent training at the Institute of Psychoanalysis (London). He has published papers in the International Journal of Psychoanalysis, Journal of Child Psychotherapy and in the Jahrbuch der Psychoanalyse.
