Joe Druce
Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist
About Joe Druce
I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and MBT therapist who works both in the NHS and in private practice.
In the NHS I work as a senior clinician in both a complex emotional needs pathway and within a perinatal mental health team.
In my private practice I offer individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy to adults either weekly, or more intensively, both online and in person.
I also offer parent infant work, which supports people in their transition to parenthood, either pre or post childbirth. After birth this involves working with parents and their infants together until the children are two years of age.
In conjunction with experienced colleagues, I offer a private Mentalisation Based Therapy programme. This involves weekly individual sessions alongside a weekly online therapy group. This is suitable for people struggling with complex interpersonal difficulties and difficulties regulating their emotions, potentially including impulsivity, self-harm and suicidality.
I have a particular interest in supporting people within the LGBTQ+ community. I am also interested in the way that societal pressures and systemic power structures influence our experience of ourselves and our mental health. Issues of inequality, racism, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia continue to shape the world in which we live. I aim to offer an inclusive space to everyone I work with, to enable them to make sense of how these influences might impact their individual emotional lives.
