About Nathan Babiker
Consultant Clinical Psychologist
Psychodynamic Psychotherapist
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an approach aimed at achieving a deeper understanding of psychological difficulties. The focus is on gaining insight - for example, considering the meaning of a symptom rather than trying to remove it - so it may feel different to some other therapies. It is usually conducted on a long term, once- or twice-weekly basis.
At the beginning it can be helpful to arrange two or more consultation sessions to consider if psychodynamic psychotherapy would be suitable. Once therapy begins, it is at the same day(s) & time(s) each week.
I can supervise professionals who are interested in exploring a psychodynamic understanding of their work on an individual or group basis.
I am committed to working towards a fairer society in which people are valued equally regardless of their ethnic group, gender identity, sexuality, class, religion, disability or any other individual difference. I’ve been involved in public sector projects to increase access and representation for marginalised groups.
