Ben French

I work as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist in Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust (CAMHS) and through my private clinic in central Eastbourne - ‘Eastbourne Child Therapy’ where I see 2 to 25 year olds. As well as working with local families and schools in my clinic, I also work with the Adoption Support and Special Guardianship fund, offering psychotherapy, network consultation and Therapeutic Needs Assessments.

I have significant clinical experience in evidence based psychotherapy for depression, self harm, suicidal ideation, anxiety, abuse, tics, phobias, eating disorders, adoption issues, trauma, psychosis, ADHD, school and family problems, and body, trans and gender issues with both neurodiverse and neurotypical young people. Additionally, I work with parents developing new insight and ideas around difficult family situations that can support them in making helpful changes. I also offer supervision to those interested in a psychoanalytic approach and have supervised a range of professionals including psychiatrists, social workers and specialists working with children in care. Psychotherapy can help most emotional, behavioural, psychological, social and developmental difficulties. It can also help children to deal with learning and physical disabilities, as well as those on the autistic spectrum. It can involve working one-to-one with a young person or parent, a child and parent together, or an entire family.
