Child and Family Psychodynamic Psychotherapist
About Ben French
Working therapeutically with young people and their families is different from therapy with adults and requires specialist skills and knowledge. I trained for 5 years at the Tavistock and Portman Clinic (NHS), a world centre for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and work as a Psychotherapist in CAMHS (NHS). I also have many years experience in schools leading a therapy service in a local college. I work with 2 to 24 year olds, and have significant clinical experience in evidence based psychotherapy for depression, self harm, anxiety, abuse, trauma, family issues, and difficulties around the body and gender.
Psychotherapy can help most emotional, behavioural, psychological, social and developmental difficulties. It can also help children to deal with learning and physical disabilities, as well as those on the autistic spectrum. It can involve working one-to-one with a young person or parent, a child and parent together, or an entire family.
I welcome all and any enquiries, and work from a friendly, private clinic in Meads Eastbourne. For more information about my background, how Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy works, as well as videos and helpful links for families and young people, please click the link above to my website.
