Samantha Southey
Psychodynamic Counsellor
About Samantha Southey
I work with people who have survived complex traumas and are living with PTSD, CPTSD, panic attacks, flashbacks, anxiety and shame. I aim to create a safe and compassionate space for us to work together collaboratively.
I offer a psychodynamic approach and we would work together to explore the past and it’s impact on life now, and how you want the future to look like. This often helps to reduce anxiety and decrease shame.
I have a private practice working primarily online using video and telephone calls. I also work as a counselling tutor, teaching people who are interested in becoming a psychodynamic counsellor.
In the past, I’ve worked with FTSE 250 companies as a coach, with local community colleges supporting Drugs and Alcohol Services, with Youth Offending Teams as a mentor and I worked with Gloucestershire Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre (GRASAC). I have offered counselling in both charities and private settings, working with adults to help them to overcome the emotional challenges of life.
