Sharadha Bain

I am an adult psychoanalytic psychotherapist offering in-person sessions at my consulting room in Edinburgh. I also offer therapy online for individuals who live elsewhere.

With many years of experience in helping people with mental health difficulties, intergenerational trauma, relationship struggles, family dynamics and self-esteem, I work with a wide range of problems.

I begin with an initial consultation to hear and understand the reasons for seeking therapy. The first meeting is often followed up with up to two or three further sessions to discuss whether it would be helpful to embark upon therapy.

In coming for an initial consultation, there is no expectation to proceed with therapy. I am happy to meet for one-off consultations.

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy can vary in terms of frequency of sessions and the duration of the therapy. Both of these depend on individual circumstances and what would feel helpful.

I also offer supervision to counsellors and therapists working psychodynamically and also from other perspectives.
