Wellbeing Wednesdays at WPF: August Session
Book tickets
Description
We recognise that the last 12 months have been challenging for therapists many of whom have been called upon to work longer hours and to support clients with the global pandemic. These sessions are designed to specifically support therapists (including therapists in training) who may struggle to make space for their own wellbeing but recognise the importance of prioritising themselves.
The sessions will focus on wellbeing through art, yoga, dance, meditation, music and other topics. These sessions are for you if:
1. You can attend at lunchtime.
2. Have your clinical work at either end of the day.
3. May be starting to question emotional burnout.
4. Want to focus on self-care in a group with other practitioners.
5. Want to have a relaxing session in the middle of your working day.
All sessions will be on Zoom. You will need too WiFi with stable access to participate.
August Session -Wednesday 4th August 2021, 12-1.30 pm – Play with drawing with Caroline Banks, 1.5 hour workshop
Time to slow down and relax and gain a different view on how creative thinking works during this interactive, 90 minute session. The session will be on Zoom, and you will need to keep your camera on throughout so that all participants are visible. The aim is for the session to be as close to an “in real life” scenario as possible.
There will be a range of games and exercises performed by participants and facilitated by Caroline. The concept of Play With Drawing will be introduced and a range of mark-making methods demonstrated. Participants will be asked to bring a small object to the session and discuss it using sight and touch. Participants will also be encouraged to draw, according to different instructions, an object that will be shown on screen. There will be the opportunity to select their favourite drawing to discuss. The concept of drawing for information and communication will be discussed.
Attending this workshop will:
1. Help you develop your observational skills
2. Provide you with quick and simple relaxation techniques
3. Increase confidence in your creative ability
4. Give a feeling of calm and satisfaction
A basic list of materials required will be sent in advance of the workshop to all those who register.
