Description
TFP is a adapted form of psychodynamic psychotherapy for patients with a personality disorder. It is evidence-based and included in the NICE Guidelines for borderline personality disorder, and is is a BPC kite-marked psychotherapy. A structured approach is taken to assessment and treatment, including a detailed assessment, formulation of clear aims and negotiation of a contract. Therapy is face-to-face, once or twice a week, with a dual focus on interpersonal functioning outside therapy and on the transference.
The course covers the TFP object relations model of personality pathology, TFP principles and techniques. Participants will be encouraged to arrange TFP supervision of cases.
