The Complexity of Groups: A clinical workshop looking at Individuals and Systems.

In honour of the work of Professor Dr Estela Welldon.

In this day-long workshop, the presenters will discuss two different kinds of group therapy, each with differing kinds of complexity. The first group will explore the
complexity of working with groups where all members live with severe personality
pathology. The second group will explore the complexity of working with people who have committed acts of fatal violence when mentally unwell and who are now detained in secure care. Each group will include discussion of theoretical aspects of their work, clinical material and the impact of systemic factors and their own emotional responses to the work. The supervisor of both groups will also act as discussant.
