Description

As Jungian analysts we often focus on the symbolic destruction and rebirth that calls for centroversion and the integration of opposites. Yet our world is increasingly filled with the destruction of real war and terrorism, as well as increasing extreme splits in politics and beliefs. In this talk, I will reflect upon what it is like to live as an analyst and sandplay therapist amid terrorism and a terrible war of destruction.
I bleed with all children and innocent adults who suffer on both sides of the conflict.

• What it is like to work as an analyst and reside in the same dirty bathwater as our patients, supervisors, and analysts.
• The tremendous complexity of living in the Middle East
• The political choices I make which includes protesting our current government.
• The differences I try to make one step at a time.
• The trauma we face and treat as analysts.
• The support and inspiration from my colleagues in Israel and abroad, as well as the splits I face internally and externally.
• The horror and hope of my dreams of the night.
• The messages of hope from a Senior Analyst and Holocaust survivor.
