Sexuality, Excess and Representation
Book ticketsOrganised by:
Institute of Psychoanalysis
Description
The object of psychoanalysis is psychosexuality, which is determined by the unconscious phantasies that are reached après coup by tracing the nuanced interplay of identifications as they are projected, enacted and experienced in the transference and the countertransference in the analytic encounter.
This webinar, with Rosine Perelberg, will indicate key concepts in the history of psychoanalytic ideas that have contributed to a psychoanalytic framework for an understanding of sexuality. The webinar will concentrate on key contributions offered by the author in her writings, examining the notions of excess, trauma and helplessness, and the riddle of anxiety and paternal function.
