Description

The level of this series is advanced and is suitable for qualified and experienced psychoanalytic and psychodynamic clinicians.

Entry requirement: You will need to be a member of either the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP), or the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) to attend.

If you are not a BPC, ACP, or UKCP member but would like to enquire, please email outreach@iopa.org.uk

The series will address and provide an overview of psychoanalytic thinking on a range of subjects relevant to the themes of Race and Diversity. Drawing on their unique clinical experience the lecturers will outline their psychoanalytic thinking on these topics, providing clinical illustrations and, where relevant, sharing the theoretical ideas that underpin their work.

Each session in this series consists of a 45-minute lecture, followed by a discussion chaired by a psychoanalyst. Attendees will have the opportunity to bring forward clinical vignettes as part of these discussions.

The lectures and discussions will be held weekly over the autumn term 2025. There will also be a final reflective group session, providing participants with a space to review and reflect on their experience of the series.
