Description
Psychoanalysis and Opera
In our series ‘Psychoanalysis and Opera’, Sara Collins presents psychological insights into opera. She examines its dramatic emotional narrative through the lens of contemporary psychoanalysis. Legendary characters such as Eugene Onegin, La Traviata and others are discussed, reflecting on their inner lives, conflicts, and what could unconsciously motivate their actions and fatal decisions.
Part of the Series of Freud’s 4pm Sessions. Each talk is a stand-alone event. It is accompanied by projected scenes from an opera, followed by questions and comments from the audience. Please note that this talk will commence at 3pm.
