Description

Discover the Transformative Power of Menstrual Cycle Awareness in Therapeutic Practice

This experiential session offers psychotherapists, counsellors, and mental health practitioners a unique opportunity to explore the menstrual cycle as a profound and holistic aspect of human experience. Moving beyond the biological or medical lens, the session will focus on the emotional, relational, and transpersonal dimensions of the menstrual cycle—revealing its potential as a powerful tool for self-awareness and integration in therapy.

Drawing on clinical theory, research, and lived practice, you’ll learn how to incorporate menstrual cycle awareness into your therapeutic approach. The session aims to inspire and equip participants with practical insights to engage more deeply with this essential element of embodied psychotherapy.

Speaker: Letticia Banton is a UKCP-registered integrative psychotherapist. She is also Counselling Psychology and Integrative Psychotherapy Doctoral Candidate at the Metanoia Institute, London. Her doctoral research is an interpretative phenomenological analysis on female clients’ experience of their menstrual cycle in therapy with a male therapist.

She is an advocate for integrating overlooked issues, such as the menstrual cycle, into contemporary psychotherapeutic theory, research and practice. Her broader clinical and research interests include a focus on gender, and she has considerable therapeutic experience working with transgender and non-binary people.
