Join us for a conversation with Heinz Weiss and John Steiner exploring Weiss’s latest book, Trauma, Guilt and Reparation: The Path from Impasse to Development* (Routledge, 2020), with a chance to put your own questions to the author.

In the book, Weiss describes the challenge of working with severely traumatised patients, and examines the central Kleinian concept of reparation in relation to guilt, envy, time and a sense of reality. The conversation will explore Weiss’s thinking about the emotional barriers faced by people who have experienced severe trauma, as well as the emergence of reparative processes which pave the way from impasse to development.

The event will be chaired by psychoanalyst Anne Amos and includes an audience Q&A.
