This workshop is designed for people thinking about putting their psychoanalytic expertise into writing for the magazine, particularly people who have not written for New Associations in the past or people who are considering writing for publication for the first time. The Centre for Trauma Asylum and Refugees (CTAR) within the Department for Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex is pleased to announce their 2025 open conference Refugee Care: Community Strength will be held on Tuesday 17th June 2025. CTAR are inviting proposals for presentations on the theme of Refugee Care: Community Strength, which might, for instance, explore the idea of community as a superpower. People working in practical ways in humanitarian, charity sectors, people with lived experience of seeking refuge, human rights activists, and students and researchers from all disciplines are all welcome to submit proposals. The School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture (LLMVC) at the University of Aberdeen invites contributions to the symposium Creativity, Subjectivity, Relocation, an interdisciplinary event exploring the interplay between creative expressions, identity formation, and the dynamics of social and environmental space artists move into/from, live and work in.

While rooted in themes of migration and musical creativity, the event IS NOT limited to music or Iranian culture. We welcome contributions that explore the experiences of diverse communities, performing arts, and interdisciplinary approaches to creativity and spatial dynamics.

King's College and New Imago Forum are running an event on 'Security and Precarity: psychoanalytic and cultural perspectives', a platform to consider these separate domains and their relation to each other. Max Cavitch, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of English and Co-director of the Psychoanalytic Studies programme at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also edits the prize-winning blog, Psyche on Campus. He is also an Editorial Consultant for ROOM: A Sketchbook for Analytic Action and a member of the Editorial Board of Revisit: Humanities and Medicine in Dialogue.

Max recently wrote for our Magazine New Associations in issue 44 about the blog he edits, Psyche on Campus, one of the most popular psychoanalytic blogs today. The article traces his work and the success of the blog.
