Tavistock Education and Training offers a wide range of life-changing CPD and postgraduate courses, drawing on the innovative approaches to understanding mental health and emotional wellbeing that have characterised our work for over a century.
As part of North London NHS Foundation Trust, we ground our students’ learning in the latest clinical insights and research, with each course developed and delivered by our expert clinician-tutors, in the only NHS Trust registered with the Office for Students. Our validated courses are awarded by the University of Essex and our clinical courses are accredited by a range of leading professional bodies, including the BPC – ensuring that the education our students receive is highly relevant, up-to-date and applicable.
Many of our training pathways are based on an escalator model – from introductory courses through to advanced clinical training – supporting students to build a meaningful career in a variety of sectors, including mental health, healthcare, education, social work, consultancy and criminal justice.

The following courses are accredited by the British Psychoanalytic Council and qualification for entry into the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists (a BPC Member Institution) is awarded upon successful completion:

We have also previously offered training in psychodynamic psychotherapy with couples (D59C), intercultural psychodynamic psychotherapy (D59I) and forensic psychotherapy (D59F) and graduates of these courses are welcome to join the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists and BPC Register of Psychotherapists.
