The Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists (TSP) is the professional body for psychotherapists who have trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust and Tavistock Education and Training.
The TSP was first established in 1995 as The Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists and Allied Professionals, and acted as an alumni society for psychoanalytically and systemically Tavistock trained practitioners in the field of mental health. Since 2012 it has operated solely as a Member Institution of the BPC.
As a BPC Member Institution, qualification for entry into the society and the BPC Register is awarded upon successful completion of one of the following trainings:
• Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (M58/BM58)
• Inter-cultural psychodynamic psychotherapy (D59I)
• Forensic psychodynamic psychotherapy (D59F)
• Psychodynamic psychotherapy with couples (D59C)
• Psychological therapies with children, young people, and families (M34)
• Interdisciplinary training in adult psychotherapy (M1)
• Psychodynamic psychotherapy for child and adolescent psychiatrists (M14)
