APPCIOS is an independent professional association whose members have demonstrated expertise in psychodynamic practice and counselling within organisational settings. It is not associated with any one training organisation but is able to accept practitioners from a wide variety of in-house and ‘portfolio’ trainings.

British Psychoanalytic Association
The British Psychoanalytic Association is a Component Society of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), a worldwide body that safeguards professional and ethical practice. The BPA became a member in 2006 and commenced its training in 2009. We are one of two IPA Societies in the UK, and as such represent an exciting development for psychoanalysis in this country. The BPA not only provides a training in psychoanalysis but also provides scientific and clinical events as well as treatment opportunities through its Low Fee Service.

The British Psychotherapy Foundation was formed in April 2013 from the merger of the British Association of Psychotherapists, the London Centre for Psychotherapy and the Lincoln Clinic and Centre for Psychotherapy.

Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling
Established in 1979, the FPC is the professional association of WPF Therapy
for adult psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapists. WPF Therapy, established in 1969, is a training institution which provides a range of psychodynamic and psychoanalytic trainings including training in adult psychotherapy.
Gloucestershire Counselling Service
GCS specialises in providing counselling and training counsellors to professional standards. It was established in 1980 to offer affordable, open-ended, in-depth counselling in Gloucestershire. All clients are assessed at the Centre and allocation considered carefully. There are now over 60 part-time counsellors and over 220 people use the counselling service each week. All counselling is regularly supervised on a weekly basis. Experienced senior staff, seminar leaders, tutors and supervisors ensure the high standards of training and practice with which GCS has become associated.
